Features of CAs
- I wrote a paper entitled A Review of Cell Assemblies with Peter Passmore
in 2013.
- It's not entirely clear what a CA is, but that paper proposes undone
features
- A CA has a relatively small number of neurons (thousands maybe
hundreds or millions).
- A CA can show self sustaining persistent activity.
- A CA is learned.
- Neurons in a CA fire synchronously.
- It's not entirely clear what a CA is and these features specify
aspects of a CA.
- The features are not universally agreed upon, but are widely
agreed upon.
- It's not entirely clear the size of CA. I think Buzsaki suggest at
least 200 neurons (from some insect).
- It may be that CAs have a range of behaviour with larger CAs behaving
quite differently from smaller ones.
