Short Term Plasticity and Binding

• Another theoretical problem with neural systems is the binding problem.
• If a Red Square is active, and a Blue Circle is active, and there are only representations for Red, Square, Blue and Circle, how does the system know the colour of the Square?
• That's the binding problem and it is all over the place, particularly in language processing.
• I used short term potentiation to bind words and phrases in a neural NL parser.
• Again, I don't have any biological evidence.
• How might I get some?
