Glia

• I think there are roughly four glia cells for each neuron.
• There is evidence that they effect cognition beyond merely maintaining neurons.
• How that works is really quite poorly understood.
• We haven't covered it partly because of time,
• partly because I don't know much about it, and
• partly because I don't think it's very well understood how they effect cognition.
• I think there are a lot of hypotheses about this, but I don't think there's lots of agreement.
