Plasticity

• We looked at plasticity in the two lectures.
• We looked at in the building topologies lab.
• You could have used it in course work 2.
• That said, I think we covered this rather weakly.
• There is a lot that we don't understand about plasticity.
• None the less, there is a lot of evidence for structural,
• long term, and
• short term plasticity.
• It's really what makes biological systems superior to current (and likely for quite some time) artificial systems.
• That means there's scope to use biological simulations to do novel and industrially viable machine learning.
