Acceleration
- Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity over time.
- a = delta(v)/delta(t)
- Why this is interesting is that a lot of games (and
real world activities) care about acceleration.
- Of course you also care about velocity.
- Driving is a lot about acceleration (the gas pedal
is called the accelerator).
- Flying is too, and for that matter so is football.
- Of course acceleration and velocity are often affected by
things like wind resistance, but you can often ignore it.
- You can get distance travelled by calculating area under
the velocity curve.
