Interleaving Methods
- Another way to combine research methods is to do
two simultaneously.
- In essence, this is interleaving two methods.
- Cresswell gives three versions of this,
- Concurrent Triangulation Strategy, Concurrent Nested Strategy,
and Concurrent Transformative Strategy
- The transformative one is again driven by a theory.
- The difference betwee the Nested and Triangulation one
is that Nesting makes one method more prominent.
- Cresswell points out that you use the methods together
to support each other.
- Of course there are problems when they contradict each other.
- Another advantage of this is that you can push forward on
one method when facing a road block on the other.
