Interleaving Methods

• Another way to combine research methods is to do two simultaneously.
• In essence, this is interleaving two methods.
• Cresswell gives three versions of this,
• Concurrent Triangulation Strategy, Concurrent Nested Strategy, and Concurrent Transformative Strategy
• The transformative one is again driven by a theory.
• The difference betwee the Nested and Triangulation one is that Nesting makes one method more prominent.
• Cresswell points out that you use the methods together to support each other.
• Of course there are problems when they contradict each other.
• Another advantage of this is that you can push forward on one method when facing a road block on the other.
