Topological Regularity
- GAs are only going to work if things that are nearby (in the
way new genes are created) have similar values.
- If it's entirely regular, the search will quickly converge.
- Typically there are lots of peaks and valleys in the space.
- It's important that things that are nearby in the gene sequence
evaluate together because when you cross over, they stay together.
- As the distance increases, it becomes less important that the distant
elements are closely related.
- Will it work for a lottery?
