The Human Brain Project

• We've got a grant as part of the HBP.
• The goal of the HBP is to develop tools to help us understand brains.
• These tools include neurobiological databases, but also a lot of tools to help us simulate.
• One set of tools is neuromorphic chips, and another set revolves around high performance computers..
• Another set of tools is the cognitive robotics platform to simulate and use real robots.
• These tools will become avaiable over the internet.
• So, I could send a program to a billion neuron chip set, and have it simulate a rat in real time.
