Chris
- I got my PhD from the University of Michigan in 1994.
- It was based on a Natural Language Parsing algorithm (Plink).
- I was at the American University of Cairo for 2 years, and did
a postdoc at Sheffield for a year (on the General Architictecture
for Text Engineering (GATE)).
- I've been here at Middlesex since 1998, and started the AI reading
group (now the
AI research group) on arriving.
- NLP is now secondary, and my main work is on biologically plausible
neural networks.
- I've had PhD students complete in neural nets, conversational systems,
information retrieval, dialogue analysis, and the semantic web.
- I've supervised hundreds of MSc and BSc theses in areas including
Artificial Life, Categorisation, Games Agents, Genetic Algorithms,
and Expert Systems.
- I'm happy to discuss your thesis with you.
