Industrial Robots
- We've used robots industrially at an increasing rate since
World War Two.
- For instance, a great deal of automobile production is done
by robots. (It varies from company to company, and indeed
from factory to factory.)
- A fair few things in building cars are dangerous and involve
a lot of strength.
- So welding, and chasis assembly is often done by robots.
- Moreover, things like painting can be done effectively by
robots.
- When it's cheaper to do something with a robot, we do.
- Of course, it isn't a clear line between robot and non-robotic
machine.
- Is a timed coffee machine a robot?
- What about automated fruit and vegetable pickers?
