Subgoaling
- Many goals can be broken down into subgoals.
- To make coffee, I need to have a machine, coffee, water
and electricity.
- To put a disc on a peg, the peg must be empty, and the
disc must have nothing on top of it.
- To achieve a goal, merely achieve all the subgoals.
- You of course do have to explicitly store how to
break a goal into pieces.
- As there are often multiple ways of achieving a goal, you
can use and-or trees here to solve this problem.
- It also may be important to fulfill the subgoals in
a particular order.
- Soar and universal subgoaling.
