Psychological CAs
- There's been a lot of computational models of CAs,
- including a lot of work with Hopfield nets and other
attractor nets.
- However, these usually miss the Psychological side of
CAs.
- There's a lot of evidence about the behaviour of short term
memories, for example ACT equations.
- A Hopfield net can't gracefully acount for STM duration.
- There is a lot of work in associative memory.
- We've done some work modelling hierarchical category formation.
- Valiant has done some stuff with associative memory, but it's not
very neural, and not Psychological at all.
- Some others who are modelling CAs are Wennekers, Palm, Rolls
(phonological loop), and von der Malsburg (synchrony and binding).
