Disambiguating Stimuli
- A stimuli is ambiguous when it provides evidence for more than one concept
- An example would be the Necker Cube or homonymous words
- (Ignoring the problem of two concepts being present e.g. a Cat and a Dog)
- A network categorises the stimuli by activating one CA
- CAs can compete with each other via inhibitory neurons, so that one
CA can supress other CAs.
- It may be the case that one CA prevents another CA from igniting or
- the CAs both ignite then one continues to remain active
