Cell Assemblies
Cell Assemblies (CAs) are:
- reverberating neural circuits
- short and long term memory primitives
- groups of neurons that are well connected
- CAs can be learned via a Hebbian learning mechanism
- CAs are consistent with known neurology
- There is neurological evidence supporting CAs
- CAs are an old concept
- We don't have a good understanding of the computational ramifications of CAs
- We don't make much use of CAs for psychological models
