The Biological Data
- The data was used for a neural modelling competition. (T. Berger
and R. Naud Quantitative single-neuron modelling 2009)
- A neuron from the primary somatosensory neocortex of a
rat was extracted.
- It then had an electrode stuck into it, that could measure
deploratizations (spikes), and could inject current.
- Measurements were taken every .1ms.
- A complex input regime was used.
- This was done on 13 neurons.
- It was done for 60 seconds, but the data we got only had the
first 39. (They held the rest back for testing in the competition.)
