Evidence
- Of course what really makes a theory strong is evidence for it.
- Theories like Newtonian Mechanics have thousands of experiments
that support them.
- Many of those experiments have been reproduced thousands of times
in thousands of different labs (including class room demonstrations).
- The number and breadth of the experiments is important.
- In many domains (e.g. astronomy, and economics) it is difficult
to perform experiments, but evidence still accumulates.
- It's great if you can get a reproducible experiment but if you
can't there are other methods.
- What are example of evidence for Darwinian Evolution? Can you
do an experiment?
