Computer Modelling
- Computer programs can be (and have been) written to model a lot of
things.
- For example, there are computer models of the weather.
- These take various inputs (e.g. temperature and humidity in a lot
of different places), and predict what the weather will be for the
next several days.
- There are models of global warming, the economy's performance,
electoral results, and lots of other things.
- Similarly, there are lots of compuational models for neuroscience.
- I'm going to talk about models of
neurons and models of synapses.
- You can also model brains as areas
, which I'll mention.
- Are there other tasks in neuroscience that could benefit from
computational?
- (Computers can be used as tools to analyse data.)
