Binding
- Binding works by presenting the appropriate CAs simultaneously.
- This leads to a rapid change in synaptic weights due to compensatory
learning.
- After this, presentation of one of the two leads to ignition of
the other CA.
- (Most other systems that bind with simulated neurons use synchronous firing.)
- This simulation uses a special binding node. It is presented along
with the internal CA that the system is counting up to.
- The binding node is then used as a trigger to stop counting.
- So, during counting, when the internal CA that the system is counting to ignites,
it ignites the binding node.
- The binding node in turn ignites the finish node and counting stops.
