Training the Base Nets
- Both nets were broken into 10 orthogonal patterns of
160 neurons.
- A pattern was presented to a net consisting of 50 randomly
selected neurons.
- The pattern was presented for 50 cycles.
- The system was allowed to run for 350 further cycles.
- These presentations of 400 cycles were called an epoch.
- Activation and fatigue were reset after each epoch.
- A new randomly selected pattern was presented for each base
training epoch.
- Patterns alternated between horizontal and vertical base nets.
- The base nets were trained for 240 epochs (96,00 cycles).
