Binding via Synchrony
- The binding problem has been known for some time.
- Consequently, there is a proposed solution.
- Two CAs are bound if their neurons fire synchronously
(von der Malsburg).
- There has been a lot of work under this hypothesis.
- Palm (and Knoblauch) has a robot that binds via synchrony that actually
does language, sensing and motion (NCPW04).
- Sounge also has a good system (Connection Science 2001) that
binds via synchrony.
- It must be noted that each neuron in the bound CAs does not
fire at the same time, but they do so stochastically.
