Our Answer to the CAC Community Problem

• Again, let's restate the question.
• What is a good mechanism to develop a community to develop the abilities and use of AI systems?
• This is our answer as of August 2007.
• There are several mechanisms for doing this:
  1. Have a virtual discussion (technology unspecified).
  2. Develop an ontology in collaboration with the discussion.
  3. Actively recruit people especially potential corporate users.
  4. Visit people and have them visit us.
  5. Have the competition.
• The mechanisms interact in a relatively sophisticated way.
• We've not really evaluated these mechanisms at all.
