Giving Talks

• I've given a lecture on writing and one on reading.
• Talking is probably just as important.
• You need to go out and speak with people about your work; this includes subjects but also fellow researchers.
• You should also go out and give scholarly talks.
• Give presentations at conferences.
• Give talks at seminars at research labs.
• It helps with the work quite like writing and reading do.
• It also gives you a nice mechanism for networking.
• Come to think of it, you can even teach classes on it.
• Giving a talk is a key skill in many businesses, including knowledge engineering.
