Occam's Razor

• Entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity.
• Does anyone know what Occam's Razor is about?
• All things being equal, the simplest solution tends to be the right one.
• Competing theories can account for the data.
• Which is the right one?
• Usually it's the simplest.
• How about evolution and creationism.
• Both of these account for the data.
• Which is simpler?
• There is also an issue about which has more explanatory power.
• As our friends from Kansas are fond of saying, evolution is just a theory.
• Of course, so is gravity.
