Cortex
  - I'm pretty sure that the cortex is the most studied bit of the
      nervous system.

  - Academics have argued that our large cortex is the reason human's are
      so smart.

  - It is a big bit of our brain, and can be broken up into several
      areas.

  - One way is using
Brodmann Areas. Brodmann did this in 1909 and it is still
widely (though definitely not exclusively) used.

  - Another way to split the cortex is to break the cortex into four
lobes: frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital.

  - The Brodmann areas fit into this.

  - It's also the case that the cortex has two halves (both with
four lobes and all the Brodmann areas) connected by the
    corpus callosum.
