Conclusion of Topology Lecture
- We do not know everything about the brain's topology.
- However, there is a substantial amount of evidence that looks
pretty solid. For example, sparse connectivity and some functions of
brain areas.
- Tractography studies this both between areas and at a neural level.
- Topology is changing constantly with growth and death of nodes and
connections (neurons and synapses).
- Topology is an important tool for understanding how brains work.
- The reading for this week is Trappenberg Chapter 5.1.
