Conclusion of Topology Lecture

• We do not know everything about the brain's topology.
• However, there is a substantial amount of evidence that looks pretty solid. For example, sparse connectivity and some functions of brain areas.
• Tractography studies this both between areas and at a neural level.
• Topology is changing constantly with growth and death of nodes and connections (neurons and synapses).
• Topology is an important tool for understanding how brains work.
• The reading for this week is Trappenberg Chapter 5.1.
