Refractory Periods

• Neurons also have periods where they won't fire.
• There are two versions of these periods, absolute refractory periods and relative refractory periods.
• When a neuron fires, it will not fire again in its absolute refractory period.
• It takes more input than usual for it to fire in its relative refractory period.
• A lot (all?) of the PyNN Nest models have absolute refractory periods as parameters.
• Often input is ignored during the absolute refractory period.
• Does anyone know about any other computational models of refractory periods?
