Refractory Periods
- Neurons also have periods where they won't fire.
- There are two versions of these periods, absolute refractory
periods and relative refractory periods.
- When a neuron fires, it will not fire again in its absolute
refractory period.
- It takes more input than usual for it to fire in its relative
refractory period.
- A lot (all?) of the PyNN Nest models have absolute refractory periods
as parameters.
- Often input is ignored during the absolute refractory period.
- Does anyone know about any other computational models of refractory
periods?
