Visual Novel Engines

• Visual Novel Engines are a subset of engines.
• They typically use less dynamic graphics, and so they concentrate on a different set of tools.
• I'm particularly interested in the Digital Novel Markup Language. Talk about a light weight engine.
• Note that the visual novel is a type of game we haven't looked at much in this class.
• If you don't have to worry about much graphics, you can concentrate on other aspects of the game.
• Plot development is really interesting, and can lead to an entirely different type of gaming experience.
