The Illusion of Intelligence

• Game AI is more important because it makes games more fun and challenging.
• As we know, there is big money in game developement.
• There's also big money in AI. (Google search is an AI algorithm.)
• You also have to be a good programmer to develop good AI, and that's marketable.
• Buckland's point about the Illusion of AI is reasonable.
• It's not that important that your game is intelligent, it just needs to seem intelligent to the user.
• However, once you've allowed the user to see that it is not intelligent, the game becomes less fun.
• Of course, this all begs the question, what is intelligent?
