Running GATE
- I used start/All Programs/GATE Developer 7.0/GATE Developer 7.0
- This gave me a cool little window

- I then grabbed a document I had, and put it into GATE by double
clicking on the Language Resource Menu item (the 4 pronged propeller)
and then selecting GATE Document. I called it Chocolate1, and followed
the browse item on sourceUrl.
- I could then look at the text file by double clicking on it.
- I then added the ANNIE English Tokeniser as a Processing Resource.
- I then made an application by clicking on the Applications menu item
(that looks like clockwork clogs), and selected Pipeline. I called
it token1.
- I double clicked on token1, and included the tokeniser by using the
right arrow. In that same window I stuck in the chocolate1 document.
Then I hit the run this application button.
- The GATE window looks like

- Now if I double click on chocolate, and click the SpaceToken and Token
boxes, I can see how it has annotated the document.
- It looks like
Note the holidays
token is selected.
