Information Extraction

When I was working on my PhD at the University of Michigan, we particiapted in the Message Understanding Competitions. That's Text Extraction (TE) or Information Extraction.

When I first came to the UK in 1996, I worked at the University of Sheffield on GATE.

I haven't used GATE in a while, so I'm going to do it on the fly and walk you through how to do TE with GATE.
