Weak neuro-cognitive model
- We'd also like to use our neural systems as neuro-cognitive models.
- A paper (Altmann and Trafton) shows how a rule based system (timed
somewhat arbitrarily) correlates with human behaviour on the Tower
of Hanoi task with 5 disks.
- Not surprisingly, our neural rule based system has the same shape
in the timing of the application of rules.
- It is however, about 20 times as fast (in model time).
- This is one of the weaknesses of this as a cognitive model.
- However, it is also clearly not the human neural topology;
this is another weakness.
