Cell Assemblies
- From earlier, CAs are the neural basis of concepts
- and CAs are reverberating neural circuits.
- They are long term memories learned by seeing
instances of the category repeatedly
- They are short term (working) memories when an instance
of the category is sensed and the CA ignites
- Memories can remain active after stimulus has ceased
- Ignition is the process of starting the circuit reverberating
- Two neurons in the same CA will have a large synaptic strength
between them.
