Real Topology

- Lots of the early areas have neurons responding to frequencies.
- Hair cells are saturated at high volume.
- Perhaps on-off off-on detectors would solve this, but where do they
fit?
- First formant neurons fire synchronously, but lower formants don't.
- I need to talk to an auditory neuro-biologist.
- Learning does seem stop in early areas (neuromodulators).
