Machine Learning Test
- The overall test is a standard machine learning 5-fold test.
- After 120 epochs of training, learning is turned off.
- The system is then tested for 600 epochs on all five sets of data.
That's one fold.
- That is there are five sets of six inputs sounds.
- Then the system is run again (720 epochs) with a fresh net on another set
of training data.
- It is run on all 5-folds.
- It was run on 100 nets, so 20 complete 5-fold tests.
- The result on all 5 test sets is 93%, and on just the 4 untrained
sets is 92%.
- Not reported in the paper, the test was run again with just the
two formants (an easy trick in preprocessing), and the tests
were about 98%.
