CAs and Timing
Timing
- CAs can be used for timing experiments
- In my particular model of CAs, timing is weak
- Still a timing assumption can be made that a neuron can fire only once
in 10 msec.
- This says loads about timing.
- How long does it take to visually recognise something?
- If it takes 200 msec, this implies that there need to be
20 cycles of firing before a CA can ignite
- It takes longer to recognise an ambiguous stimuli because competing CAs
inhibit each other slightly delaying CA ignition
- You can even imagine doing HCI analysis based on a sophisticated CA model
- Of course, you must also consider neurons as signal
processors to do this.
