Variable Binding
- CAs should be able to do variable binding.
- For instance, you might have a CA for red, green, square
and circle, but it would be odd to have one for red-circle.
- Somehow the short term concept red-circle needs to be
stored.
- We propose binding areas but others propose binding by
synchrony.
- Binding also enables rules.
- Once you have rules you have a turing complete machine.
- You then have a cognitive architecture to compete with for
instance ACT-R.
