Spontaneous Firing from Fatigue
- Neurons fire spontenously, i.e. without any input.
- We've used this before by merely randomly firing 1 or 2% of the
neurons.
- Learning is Hebbian with synaptic weights increasing when two
neurons co-fire.
- Spontaneous firing enables those neurons that have no external
activation to become part of neural circuits.
- The negative fatigue mechanism gives us a seemless way to fire
neurons.
