CA based Robot
- We've got an EPSRC sponsored grant entitled
Natural Language Parsing using Cell Assemblies:
computational linguistics with attractor nets
.
- The project web site is
here.
- It started in August 2006.
- Startup has been a bit slow with problems appointing the
RA.
- The rough idea is to build a video game agent to help the
user, that views the environment, has it's own goaling
mechanism, and takes commands from the user. This is cool
by itself, but is made super cool by having the entire
agent implemented in fLIF neurons.
- Progress has been made on vision, language, the symbolic
game, and in the other areas.
- I got into CA modelling as a way of resolving Prepositional
Phrase Attachment ambiguity. This grant promises (among a lot
of other things) to solve this problem.
- The other things include (but are not limited to) symbol grounding,
sensing, conversation, a cool game agent, and eventually
the Turing test.
