- The Human Brain
Project is a European Project about understanding the
Human Brain. It involves the convergence of computing technology
and biology.
- It's not just an AI thing. They want to figure out the biology.
They want to use standard data base and data mining technology
to help them find and use information.
- However, the thing I'm really interested in is building
big neural systems. In particular big neural cognitive agents.
- It's a 10 year project.
- It's just started and they're in the ramp up phase.
- There's also stuff about ethics and building a community.
- They've got a call out for
additional beneficiaries. They've broken this into
eight different topics. Some include: novel methods for rule-based
clustering of medical data; genotype to phenotype mapping of the
mouse brain; virtual robotic environments, agents, sensory and motor
systems; and cogntive architectures.
- We're putting in an application for neural configurations of
neuromorphic computing systems.
