Hebbian Learning
- Ignited CAs are short-term memories
- How do you form CAs?
- Via unsupervised learning.
- Good old Hebb helped out here too; you may have
heard of Hebbian learning.
- If two neurons are connected (via a synapse) and both
are frequently coactive, the synaptic strength will increase.
- This learning rule of course has a large range of variance.
Neurophysiologists know that it happens, but are not sure exactly
how (physically or computationally).
- We're doing work on this rule.
- Frequent presentation of instances of a type of an object will
lead to the formation of a CA for that object.
- Inactive CAs are long-term memories.
