Cell Assemblies and HCI
- CAs are a model of human processing
- Obviously, many low level processes could benefit from
being modeled by CAs
- Object recognition, short term memory, long-term memory, forgetting,
and information overload are obvious candidates.
- A lot of you HCI folks work at really abstract (symbolic) levels;
in the short run that's hard for CAs (as they're currently pretty
low level).
- A CA-based system is a long way from task analysis.
- However, two things strike me as relevant to all of you
