Short Term CA Dynamics
- When a CA is not active, there may be some firing from neurons
in it, though it is low
- When stimulus is presented, a lot of the neurons in a CA are
activated
- These neurons will stimulate other neurons in the CA leading to
a cascade
- This is CA ignition
- CAs categorise stimuli
- So when a dog is presented (a picture, the word, a scent or other
stimuli) the CA is activated
- The active CA represents a short term or working memory
- The Beurle wave model fits with this, with a wave repeatedly
passing through the same neurons
