Conclusion

Linear search just loops through the whole array.
Lookup search uses a lookup table, and a lot memory.
Lookup search is faster than linear, but takes more start up time.
If you want to do a CMT1314 project with the AI folks, we could start with a tic-tac-toe game. If you're interested in something else, I'm willing to discuss it in conjunction with your module leader.

It really helps to be a good programmer to be good at AI.
Being a good programmer will enable you to get a good job.
