What you can do with Stats

• Firstly, let's make it entirely clear that I'm not a statistician.
• I occasionally use statistics.
• I use them to bolster my argument.
• I use them to analyse my data, and then to convey information about that data.
• A friend of mine, who got his MSc in Stats, said that you can't prove anything with stats.
• Note that my buddy got his MSc in Stats.
• There is no way to show you everything about stats in one lecture.
• We're just going to scratch the surface.
• What I hope to do is give an introduction, then
• show how you might use it if you need it.
