Listening to Talks
- Listening to talks is a great way to learn things.
- One thing you can learn, is how to give a better talk.
- You should try to get involved by asking questions.
- If you're really quiet, you can ask clarifying questions
to a neighbor during the talk.
- Try to read about the talk before hand. There's often a
paper, the slides, or at least an abstract available.
- This reading gives you a double dose of the research area.
- Shmooze at the end.
- Take notes, but not too many.
