Simple Advice

• A lot of us find it hard to write. Here is some advice for those of you who do.
• Use simple sentences.
• Use simple words.
• Try a relatively detailed outline of the whole paper. Make sure the whole thing makes sense at least to you. Slowly fill in the outline with text.
• Here is some advice for even those who find it easy to write.
• Use citations to support your argument.
• Read it yourself.
• Give yourself time to write it, read it, and proof read it.
• It's really great if you can put it away for a week or so after it's "finished". You can usually see real problems when you come back to it.
• Get others to read it.
• Keep writing.
