Overturning Statements

• One thing I'm fond of doing is trying to overturn statements.
• In AI, philosophers (e.g. Fodor) frequently say X can't be done.
• If you write a system that does X, you are overturning the statement.
• I'm not sure how general of a methodology this is, but it does enable interaction with other academics.
• Perhaps this is not so much to do with the scientific method as disproof.
