Conclusion

• The scientific method is the best method we have.
• If you can manage to do it, you've really got a convincing argument.
• Truth is hard to come by. Good experiments are reproducable, so you've got a really good shot at truth.
• Note that truth is not proof.
• It requires a lot of thinking and creativity to use it.
• It does not live in a vacuum, but interacts with existing theories, and supports the creation of new theories.
• There is of course real creativity involved in theory creation too.
