Carroll's Paradoxes
- Production Paradox
- People use a system.
- Once they get it to work, they don't figure out how to make it
work better for them.
- There are two particular problems.
- The new user may have to spend a lot of time getting it to work.
- The experienced user has no easy way of learning new things.
- Assimilation Paradox
- People apply what they already know to new sitautions.
- When the metaphor works (Word and typewriter), great, but
it can break down.
