Hard AI vs. Soft AI

• One big division in AI is between hard AI, doing it the way people do, and soft AI, doing anything that works.
• I have proposed that the best way to get a real AI, is to follow the human model, hard AI.
• One area of AI is Artificial General Intelligence, that deals with ways to get real AI. Turing test.
• Perhaps the big data approach will work, but I don't think so.
• One of the problems with doing it the way people do is that we don't know how people do it.
• Finding out how furthers understanding of people (cognitive models) and makes our systems more intelligent.
